Patience is one word to describe my teaching style. My main objective is to work with students on goal-setting and then concentrate on how to meet those goals.

Dyslexia Tutor

Taught elementary education for 6 years. Also received 40 hours of training in the Orton-Gillingham method of dyslexia tutoring. Emphasized reading and writing with beginning students in primary grades, and spent a substantial amount of time working with students with learning disabilities. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been working with students in a reading program at a Title I school for 2 years; working with second language students teaching them the English language. I have taught Math and Science for 4th and 5 grade using the Foss system. The Science program was a hands on experiments, writing and keeping a science notebook. Evaluations were given at the end of each lesson segment involving the Foss Systems. Taught 3rd grade all subject for 5 years teaching all subjects. I have been recognized for classroom management above expectations for the school. Students were taught with creativity and experience using hands on manipulatives and differenciated lessons. I am presently teaching 2nd grade, all subjects and also using the Foss Systems for science, Investigations for math in which many manipulitves are used to promote a higher level of thinking.
