I am an educator with 27 years of experience. I have both taught and tutored grades K-12. I have a special needs, vocational, and assessment background. I love teaching and working with students. I am very patient, easy-going, and encouraging. My teaching approach is creative and imaginative. I use methods to make lessons fun and enjoyable. I believe in using "the whole language approach," which helps to reinforce several skills at the same time. I am able to communicate my thoughts and ideas very clearly. My philosophy is that any subject can be learned, if it's presented in the correct way.

As the daughter of an illerate parent, I have learned the value of being able to read and that of an education. My education is the second most important thing to me. I am the single mother of two children, in order to support them while attaining my degree I cleaned houses. This experience only solidified , in my mind, the importance of education. A Little Bit About Me...

As a non-traditional student, earning an Associates in Applied Science Degree majoring in Respiratory Therapy at Shawnee State University I excelled in both Science and English. I have written several essays, lab reports, and presentations and have been published in Guidepost Magazine. I have experience as a tutor and mentor from elementary (all subjects) to college level (science and English) students. I also have experience with developmentally challenged students.
I have specialize training in “The Gentle Teaching Method” pertaining to the developmentally challenged student. I have discovered that this method works with traditional learners as well.
