A Little Bit About Me...

Every child can learn but since everyone is different, a different approach is needed to ensure the information and abstract concepts are fully understood. Auditory learners like myself would learn best from an entertaining lecture followed by auditory questions designed for the learner to discover for him or herself what it is they were looking for with myself as a guide. Visual learners would learn best by a movie or re-enactment, and some reading. Kinesthetic learners would need a hands on experience to get a better understanding. In all cases students will realize that they themselves can figure out for themselves the 'hows' and 'whys' of history and show me by answering some questions and re-teaching it to me.

In having a science background, I have not only learned laboratory skills and reasoning skills, but I have learned how to increase efficiency, communicate in a clear manner, and write in a way that is direct and clear. I enjoy learning, and I instill that passion into my students as best I can. I grew up with a mom who is an English teacher, so I have developed good communication skills and writing skills from her. I have taught Biology for two years at the college level and I very much enjoy the experience of knowing that what you have been trying to convey to your students just hit home.
