A Little Bit About Me...

I have a bachelors degree in Graphic Design from Stonehill College. I have had three internships in the graphic design field. My most recent internship is at Harvard University doing graphic design and marketing work for their athletic department. I have also interned at Stonehill College's Marketing Department as well as the Henson Jackson Art Gallery donig graphic design. My last year of college I tutored for Schools on Wheels in Brockton, MA and I really enjoyed helping kids learn and grow academically.

I have tutoring experience from family, and friends to jobs taken off of job sites. I have tutored many different courses before and will go out of my way to help a student in need if I am unsure of something. All of the subjects I put that I can tutor I can effectively help a student understand. I do not get frustrated and understand that different people learn different ways and will accommodate for that as best as possible.
I believe the best teacher for a student is a student due to the easy connection. Everyone learns differently and I can help a student in the most efficent way for them to learn.

Previous students have often remarked on my practical teaching style, relying on real world examples and explanations for business and mathematics. The only way to remember information long term is to relate it to something tangible, especially in subjects like statistics and economics. Relating the ephemeral to the practical is important, and later allows for the information to be used in a real world setting much, much easier.

Two things sent me back to college for a teaching degree: a belief that good reading and writing skills are a survival skill for children in today's world, and a desire to personally do something about it. It was my reading comprehension skills that enabled me to succeed in high-tech businesses without an engineering background, and it was my command of clear, persuasive writing that set me apart, time after time, from other candidates when I applied for promotions.
