Children love to learn and feel a sense of accomplishment and self-worth when they are successful. I greatly enjoy helping children learn. Each child has the capacity to learn and it is the teachers job to present the material in a manner which is conductive to the child’s understanding. Providing tools to help each student comprehend the material is essential. Many students are helped with additional reading strategies, or using a math manipulative to make an abstract concept understandable, or a graphic organizer to help understand new content material. I graduated from Southern CT State University in 2007 with a degree in Art Education. I have been teaching or substitute teaching in some capacity since my sophomore year of college. I have been exposed to several reading programs used in NEPA public schools. In addition to classroom experience, I have extensive experience working with students with ASD.
