I am very comfortable working with both indivduals and groups of students. I want to know what my students are thinking and feeling, so I very much prefer a seminar style of instuction. Depending on the subject - be it composition or literature - I break up the time we have into workshops, allowing us to focus on issues or topics of interest or greatest need to the students. If the coursework is grammar or composition, I also encourage a lot of hands-on writing and boardwork when possible. I feel students learn best when they try to express themselves and are then open to honest critical review. A Little Bit About Me...

I like to make a difference in a child's life. I enjoy seeing the child understand what they have read or being able to sound a word out and understand its meaning. I think that in today's time a lot of students do not understand how to write a well worded paper and this skill is very useful in the higher years of one's education.
