Throughout my tutoring and teaching experiences, I have encountered students with disparate learning styles; therefore, I have learned to be patient and to employ multiple teaching methods (PowerPoint, peer workshops, handouts, and individual conferences) that appeal to all learning styles while inspiring, educating and promoting academic excellence. Students of all ages are influenced by the world around them, so it is absolutely imperative that I connect with my students to teach them the importance of reading and how to read the world and texts around them. I love working with children and I believe all children have the capacity to learn. Teachers need to recognize and learn the correct methods to instruct individual students using their strengths to overcome their weaknesses. I employ various teaching styles based on the student, the subject area, and the goals desired.I am patient, understanding of outside circumstances, and strive to ease the student into the process so they do not become overwhelmed.
