I am an Adjunct Faculty in Health Sciences and Occupational safety. I have tutored many students of all ages ranging from high school students to adult learners. I have also attended numerous training related to teaching and literacy development. As a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University I have dedicated a lot of my time and effort to learning concepts of physics. I have earned a bachelor degree in physics with a minor in mathematics graduating with a 4.0 in both my major and minor classes. I graduated magna cum laude, was awarded introductory to physics student of the year, awarded the Ted M. George outstanding senior in physics award, and taught an introductory to physics lab at Eastern Kentucky University Fall 2009. My teaching style varies depending on the age and needs of the student. When I worked with younger children, I often made up a game to help the children learn the material while having fun. Even with older children I tried to make learning interactive and suit their personality. I also varied the amount and type of aid given based on the student’s needs. While I do think learning should be suited to the individual, I do require that the student focus entirely on studying during the tutoring session. Range

Most of my teaching experience has been in classrooms with students from the toddler stage through 6th grade. My favorite areas to teach are phonics, reading, and elementary math. However, in the passed five years I have tutored pre-school age through adults in many areas, and homeschooled all areas in elementary and middle school. I also taught English as a second language. I love guiding a student through some difficult or misunderstood content and getting the "ahha!" of understanding at the end. My experience has taught me that all children can learn, but often in different ways. Finding the mode of learning for each student is the key. I try to find different ways to present the information until the child understands. It is also important to review and practice in order to reach the learning goal.
