As a child, I entered the gifted program very young and have always tutored my peers. Tutoring led me to join the Quiz Bowl and other Academic Teams as well as led me to graduate high school early. When I was in my first year of college, I took a personality profile that was intended to tell me what career choices would suit me the best. Each time I took the profile, the results stated that I was best suited to be a Teacher. The secondary career choice was business. I entered college so that I could be a financial professional, and was rather surprised by the results of the profile that I thought would say "financial" as my career choice. I decided to teach driver's education at a local Christian school for two years, and found that my students were actually learning valuable lessons from my experiences, and were retaining what I taught them. I have been involved with education for roughly the past five years, spending 2 as a substitute teacher, 2.5 as a Middle and High School Social Studies teacher and 0.5 as an Adult Education Instructor. I hold a Master's Degree in Social Studies Education from Morehead State University and a Bachelor's Degree in History from Alice Lloyd College. Classes I have taught include United State History, World History, World Geography and Law & Justice. My teaching style varies depending on the students I am teaching.
