I graduated with a BA from Rhode Island College in 2005, and went back to work on a MA the following fall. I am currently finishing up my degree and should be finished with my MA this spring. During my graduate career I had an assistantship where I helped set up classroom laboratories, aided in teaching then and also tutored students in Biology. After graduating from Rhode Island College in 1976 with a B.A. in Secondary Education and major in Biology, I took a teaching job at Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro, MA. Here I taught classes in Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Science for 5 years. I then returned to Rhode Island College where I earned a Master of Arts degree in Biology with specialization in Microbiology. During my graduate work I assisted in the laboratory sections of their General Biology and Microbiology courses. Upon graduation, I took a job at the University of Rhode Island in the Microbiology department and, after 2 years, started a new career in the Diagnostics industry where I remained for 22 years before being laid off.

In the nine years of my graduate and undergraduate education, I have been a teacher, tutor and mentor. As an undergraduate, I was the math and science tutor for student athletes; I helped students to successfully complete Algebra I & II, Geometry, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
