I love teaching children of all ages. I believe that everyone should have equal opportunities in acquiring a good education. My opinion is that all children do not learn in the same ways. Thus, some children may require additional assistance, such as tutoring. I believe that in these cases, children should be in a one-on-one learning atmosphere with their tutor, so that they get the right amount of time, patience, understanding, and attention needed to help them.
I have studied Spanish for over ten years and German for over five years. I have a BA from UCF in foreign language combination. I believe learning should be fun and creative and that children should have an environment that is friendly and caring to learn in. I think teachers should be patient with their difficulties and take time to give them the one on one attention that they need. I like thematic units and hands on activities. I like to teach reading and english. I like to use whole group, small groups, paired reading activities. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Mississippi. I am dedicated and plan to further my education at the Master’s level. My undergraduate career consisted of many hours of numerous subjects such as Math (Algebra-Calculus II), Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, Etc. Being a college graduate, I am also very skilled in the fundamentals of reading and writing. Since I graduated I have been working as a Behavior Consultant for children with developmental disabilities. I worked one on one with the children as well as designed functional behavior assessments and plans in order to increase their performance at school.
