Expert Math Tutor

My educational intetests lead me to complete a wide range of subject-disciplines in Mathematics. At the South Puget Sound Community College Math Center, in an open classroom setting, I tutored up to ten students an hour. I also tutored privately for several years around that time, and in March of this year began tutoring again. I'm an expert tutor in the following subjects: elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and SAT prep. I believe that whenever I'm working with a student they have the capacity to learn and internalize the material. I believe that the student can learn the material. My method of mathematical and scientific instruction is based off the Polya style of teaching where the instructor guides their students by questions and reviewing the known information. Thus the student's questions drive the student towards the answer desired. I find great personal reward when working with students. After explaining information and working on helping a student understand the material there's sometimes that moment when you can watch the student go from not knowing what's going on to sudden understanding. Moments like that make my day.

Experience: covers a broad range of Student's ages. From 1st Grade up to 12th Grade. My main theme are Maths but also I do very well in Physics. I completed Engineering Studies in Peru so that's the background I can show in Maths and Science. I use to taught in the past in Peru Maths for 3rd, 4th and 5th Secondary Grades (equivalent to 10th, 11th and 12th Grades of High School). In addition I'm father of four kids. Two of them are 22 and 21 years old. My other daughters are 14 and 12 years old. I gave all of them support in Maths and Science when was required.
