I taught American Sign Language at Bethlehem Academy in Faribault, Minnesota for a year. I am currently a substitute teacher at Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf in Faribault, Minnesota. I have an excellent human relations skills, knowledge and skills in working with students. I am fluent in American Sign Language. I also am majoring in Physical Education and speech communication. I prefer to assertive in discipline but try to understand where children are coming from. I want children to learn above all else. I think that you need to be understanding but stern. I think that you need to be compassionate yet thorough. I have been a preschool teacher for approximately 2 years in Head Start programs. I have substitute taught in the last year. I also was a early childhood special education paraprofessional for 1 year. I have also been a lead teacher in a learning center.

Although I have recently graduated with a degree in business, I am interested in pursuing a career involving people. My previous employment was a sales position that was very customer-oriented. I also have 3 years of experience helping children by teaching swimming lessons. Assisting my 15-year-old sister with her school work is also a regular activity. I believe in a teaching style that reflects a student's learning style. Whether they learn best by hearing, seeing, or doing it is important to cater to the student.
