A Little Bit About Me...

I have been working for a local High School for 3 years now as an instructional assistant. Currently I have 3 math classes. I have 2 pre-algebra classes and one geometry. I basically help students mostly 1:6. I have 8 math students that I work with. This summer I also thought math for the students that have failed classes or that were skipping classes and needed to make up the credit. I have BA in English/American Literature. I speak English and Bosnian(native). I also have taken all the education classes and need Praxes I and Praxis II and student teaching to be certified as an elementary teacher.

Each student brings to a tutoring session or a classroom his or her own self-knowledge about how he or she best learns, and in my teaching I always strive to draw this information out. I work to find those aspects of a subject that are going to cause a particular challenge for a student and those aspects that will come more easily. I started tutoring in 9th grade, and continued until my freshman year of college. I tutored middle school and high school students in math, sciences, and social studies. In college I tutored in Level 1 and 2 French, Psychology, and College Level Algebra. I have tutored both male and female students, and have worked with people with reading and learning disabilities.
I love working with people, and have a lot of patience. I work hard to let the student work through problems themselves before assisting them. A lot of students I have spent time with just need a small amount of encouragement and are very capable of completing their work. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a Senior Computer Science major at Siena college; my programming experience covers a range of languages, although my strongest is Java. I am currently certified by CompTIA as an IT Technician (A+ Certification), and have built 5 personal desktops over the years for clients. While programming is my main focus in school, I have learned a variety of techniques that bolster that skill, such as Artificial Intelligence design process, and Networking strategies.
