A Little Bit About Me...

In order to effectively teach, I feel it is important to recognize and understand each student's metacognitive learning style. Once that is understood the material can be introduced to them in a way that they can perceive. I also feel that it is important to empower students to have the confidence to think for themselves and understand their own ability to make connections about the material. Therefore, when I teach, I think it is important to constantly ask the students questions and direct them towards the answers as opposed to feeding them information that they memorize. Putting meaning behind the information is crucial for effective learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated from Texas A&M University earning a BS in biology with a 3.75 GPA. I have taken course work in many disciplines of biology as well as chemistry, biochemistry, physics, algebra, statistics, and English. The curriculum emphasized the importance of integrating concepts rather than memorizing individual points. I developed strong organizational and writing skills. I believe that the ability to articulate your thoughts concisely on paper leads to a better understanding of the material and ability to communicate with others. I have unofficially tutored fellow classmates in algebra and physiology.
