Desktop Publishing is one of my top subjects! Expert+ I teach this at a college level. I use InDesign which is the industry standard. I have designed most everything possible: books, billboards, marketing materials, web sites.

I am passionate about teaching and spend most of my free time, creating curriculum that will excite and engage my students. Instruction in layout, typography, photo manipulation, and illustration. At UCR, I was a "drop-in" tutor. This means that for hours of the day in a room with 6 chalkboards, I would teach math to any UCR student who wanted to learn and answer their questions. There was hardly any down time at all; I was constantly working. I had a team of tutors that I first worked with, then managed as a mentor in my last year. As a Mentor, I kept the team's understanding of the curriculum solid as a group effort. The mentors and the tutoring program coordinator held weekly meetings with regards to our various tutoring teams. Straight out of college, I began substitute teaching and then tutoring individuals. I specialized in English, reading skills, history, psychology, and counseling. Now, I'm a computer tutor, a technical writer on contract, and gone through countless hours on training for these skills, and am now considering a second career as a teacher for non native speakers, for career and computer coursework, and always for writing skills, particularly technical writing.
