Graduated with honors from Modesto Junior College with an Associates in Music. Four semesters of Piano at the college, five semesters of Voice, four semesters of Music Theory and ear training, four semesters of choir, and two semesters of Electronic Music. As a student I have a firm grasp on music fundamentals and the basics of music theory as well as some voice and piano pedagogy. Aside from my experience within the field of my degree, I've always received very high grades in math and english classes. English and composition (essays, poetry, etc) are my true strengths; however, math also comes very easily to me. While earning my degree I worked as a pre-school teacher creating lesson plans and activites that were age appropriate. I have two years experience in public school teaching English for grades 9-12, and one year experience teaching journalism, art, yearbook and English in a private school.
All childern have the capacity to excel. It requires discovering the ways a student learns best (visual,auditory etc.) and applying that to teaching techniques with the expectation of success.
