A Little Bit About Me...

I am kind of new to teaching. I have taught my little brother everything he knows, and I've been told I have a really good way of teaching. Younger students catch on very quickly to what it is I am teaching. If they don't catch on quick, then no problem. I'm very patient and never give up until a student understands the concept. I am very easy to get along with, so the student will have no problems with me. Altogether I am a very patient smart person eager to help new students learn; and if you want to have fun while learning, then I am the perfect tutor for you.

A Little Bit About Me...

When I entered college I was immediately drawn to tutor my peers as needed. I worked with the single mom's program at IVC and also did job coaching for the City of Long Beach Disabled program. Once I graduated from college I had the opportunity to join the Boys & Girls Clubs, specifically designing educational and technology programs. I enjoyed tutoring about 50 youth a day. As a result some parents requested that I run a special off hours program at their middle school to tutor the ADHD kids. Every child in that program raised their grades 60% over the course of the semester. Since that time I have honed the methods I have created to work with the "hard to reach" kids and have had tremendous success.
My teaching style is straight and to the point. My goal is to make the kids understand that the only thing holding them back is themselves. Hard work and a desire to learn will w ... read more

I recently graduated, with honors and special recognition, from Merced Community College with an AA in Business Administration. I officially worked as a tutor at the college, tutoring upper level math. However, unofficially, I tutored many classmates during my two years at the college, in various subjects. Prior to returning to school, I worked as an Office Technician for the California Department of Corections, Parole Division. During my employment with the Parole Division, I trained Parole Agents and other clerical staff about processes and procedures.
I have an informal, friendly style to my tutoring methods. I feel that having a comfortable and friendly environment helps the learning process. I use clear and simple language to explain the material. I also feel it is extremely important to be a good listener, to be fully understanding of the students areas of strengths an ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

Currently as a student in merced college, I am pursuing my degree in chemical engineering, which has enable me to take courses heavily in math and science courses. Therefore, I believe I have the experience to teach various math courses such as college algebra and calculus 1; with AP college exam passed in Calculus AB. General chemistry is also my strength as a tutor. I also have foreign languages capability that includes chinese and japanese.
I have always been interested in teaching other people who are struggling to keep up with their school work. Therefore, my goal is to provide the best education possible before I graduate and pursue my career in engineering.

As a college student, I enjoyed helping others and began working in the tutoring center at Merced College. After I transferred to CSU Stanislaus, I worked both at the tutoring center and for a state program that placed me in one of the local high schools to work with groups of seniors with low math scores in order to help improve their SAT scores. After graduation, I was hired as a substitute teacher. However, the classroom setting was not as enjoyable as tutoring. Shortly afterwards, I moved to NYC and while there took several classes in business. After returning to California permanently, I began work in the tax industry, during this time I have had several summer jobs working as a tutor for the California Department of Rehabilitation.
After having both tutored and taught in the classroom, I find tutoring to be more enjoyable. Since each student learns in a different way it is mu ... read more

I understand how important it is have a good teacher when it comes to biology and the sciences. It takes time, patience, and deep understanding of the material to effectively learn it. On my way to earning my Bachelor’s degree and now working on my Masters, I have developed techniques that have worked for me and other students that I have taught in the last few years. Biology isn’t easy, but it is my job to make it easy to learn. It is all about effectively using the time you have to learn the material. Any child can learn anything if he is taught the material the proper way. I believe education is the most important thing for a child. I want to help them strive in school, because it will ultimately be better for them in their lives.
I am a recent graduate of California State University Stanislaus with a degree in Biology. Biology has always been a passion of mine. I am curr ... read more
