A Little Bit About Me...

I have much experience teaching math to students of various learning styles. During the last 14 years, I have taught algebra, geometry, algebra 2, pre-algebra, basic math, pre-calculus, physical science, earth science, and biology mostly to high school level students. I also have much experience teaching "at risk" students and I have experience tutoring at Sylvan Learning Center.
I really enjoy teaching math. I enjoy the challenge of finding ways to help students of various learning styles to understand. I feel that patience and consistency are important virtues to exhibit when teaching. The learning environment is also important. It should be conducive to learning and not overly distracting. I enjoy seeing students learn concepts that they didn't know before and getting excited about their new understanding.

As an English teacher, I have had the opportunities to work with many different ages and levels of students. From foreign kindergarten students through degree seeking college students and varying levels in between, I have learned many different skills to help me approach each learner with the tools that make learning easy and enjoyable.
