Each student has different ways to learn. Some students require a more visual approach while ohers prefer repetion through listening and writing. I try to find the best way to help students learn and retain information. I believe that with the right help, every student has the potential to achieve academic success.

A Little Bit About Me...

In graduate school, my teaching work included leading discussion and lab sections in organic and general chemistry. Duties included preparing and delivering presentations, review of class concepts and homework problems, and office hour help sessions to ensure student understanding and success passing tests. More recently, I developed and delivered customized curriculum centered on drug discovery and genomics topics targeted to biotechnology professionals. I am currently teaching an all online class that I developed, “Genomic sequencing technologies”, with UC San Diego extension.
My teaching philosophy is to combine clear objectives and relevant content with a playful approach that encourages interest, exploration and successful learning. I still don't have my times tables memorized but can demonstrate difficult fractions and imaginary numbers to others. My experience in laboratory, design and classroom settings allows me to illustrate complex concepts meaningfully. I enjoy working one-on-one to help facilitate deeper understanding.
