A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and working with all children of all ages and believe all children can learn, but I've learned that students learn in different ways. As part of that, I love encouraging students to believe in themselves and not settle for the status quo. I am patient, easy going, and considerate, and I want to provide the best education possible. But I also enjoy motivating students to take control of their education. I believe all children can meet their potential if they are given the appropriate surroundings, encouragement, tools and learning experiences.
As a Big Ten graduate from Penn State University, I was very much driven to push myself in a wide variety of subjects to achieve a well-rounded education. I am a certified high school teacher with over six years of experience teaching and tutoring in the states as well as abroad. I started college full time at the age of 16 and graduated with an associate and two bachelor degrees before my 20th birthday. I am currently completing a master degree and have maintained a 4.0 grade point average through all 6 years of college. I spent a year living in Mexico and six months in Spain and now speak Spanish fluently. My education and experience has been primarily in the areas of English/ literature/ ESL/ grammar/ composition/ reading/ spelling and phonics, but I also have experience tutoring and teaching learners in the maths and sciences.
