Have two years in formal Arabic study. I also studied abroad in Amman, Jordan in the fall of 2012 where I studied MSA and Colloquial Jordanian Arabic. In addition to my Arabic study, I know a great deal about Arabic Culture, History, Politics, and Society. I just graduated from Siena College this spring with a Bachelor's Degree in History, which I focused primarily on Middle Eastern History.

Teaching requires empathy for the learner's situation above all other things. This means looking at things from the student's perspective and communicating effectively with the student to determine where help is needed and how to provide it. Learning is most effective when the student is respected and is provided the appropriate means for that individual to discover and absorb the subject matter.
For the last three years I instructed K-12 students in environmental science and outdoor recreation programs, as the executive director of a nonprofit educational partnership. As a recent graduate from Salem State College, I have earned my BA degree in English, with a minor in History. Writing and reading is something I am very passionate about. I have learned different forms of writing, such as analytical, persuassive, reading responses, creative, and so on. With that experience, I have learned grammatical rules for writing that was very important to my success.
