My comments on tutoring Shakespeare : I know Shakespeare inside and out, with more than 25 years in the theater.

I assess the student's level of mastery by listening to parents, communicating with the student (in whatever appropriate way needed) and then doing some basic testing. Once the student is assessed, I design a learning environment and activities that coincide with the student's specific strengths, while adding some elements of challenge. I tend to work in a very focused way for 10-15 minutes, and then add in tactile activities (like Bannana Grams for example) for 10 minutes or so, in order to maintain the student's attention. Children and youth who are struggling to read and write get patient assistance to learn the words correctly. Shakespeare is one of my top subjects! Acted in and directed several of Shakespeare's plays in the Bay Area and in New England. Shakespeare's work can be approached as theatrical literature or as poetry - and as both. Study includes scansion, and content and language analysis.

My comments on tutoring Shakespeare : Since I was about six years old I have been going to the Santa Cruz Shakespeare festival. I love Shakespeare and I can understand it almost fluently. I also blended two of Shakespeare's plays in high school and created Much Ado About Macbeth.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have usually insisted in helping people who have struggled in English and Math. I would do my best to explain the material until the student would have a solid understanding of the material. I have helped so many international students in English. As for math, I would insist on helping friends and anyone who is wishing to need help.
For math, I would explain the mechanics and techniques of how to get the answer. I want to make sure the student understands fully so I would also be asking the student questions just to ensure he or she knows the material well. I honestly believe that creativity is the guiding means of teaching techniques, resources, and assignments. All students require different things and creativity allows for an agility and flexibility that works with different students and keeps the teaching dialogue sustainable. This creativity is of course contingent on lesson plans, subject knowledge, and an array of resources.
I am working toward teaching at the university level and have, of course in the process, taught students at the university level in literature and Arabic.
