Having the opportunity to work with young children is such a wonderful experience. I learn so much from them and they keep a smile on my face. As a teenager, I learned the importance of having role models, both in and out of the classroom. Some of my biggest influences are old teachers and coaches. After I graduated high school, I attended the University of Florida, where I majored in Telecommunications, and had an outside study in English. This led me to substitute in Marion County for a year. After one year of subbing, I decided I wanted to enrich the lives of adolescents full-time. I became a teacher at my former high school, Vanguard, where I stayed for two years. I taught twelfth grade English, and then turned to teaching Intensive Reading to sophomores.
