How Much Do You Know About What You Know?

Graduated high school in 2002, with some advanced placement courses. Also attended University of Alaska, Fairbanks and Sebring Career School in Houston, Texas. I've tutored other students in grammar, middle and high school, in addition to those I've babysat and younger siblings. I've also helped student write research papers at high school and college levels.
1. Assess student's current understanding of course material by asking a few questions and having student write a page summary. 2. Student and I again review material and locate gaps. 3. Student and I make timeline (or other visual aid). 4. Student is provided with study skills (reading, writing and memory- I'll bring these) 5. Make school work.

Not all students are successful and the trick is to identify the reasons behind the lack of success. The issues that students have with school are diverse; procrastination, lack of organization, failure to plan, lack of awareness, ineffective habits, learning disabilities, and differences are all possible explanations for school failure.
