I've been studying saxophone for 14 years. Since high school, I've been an active music educator and have taught students of all ages and backgrounds. My quartet that I've been involved with since the Fall of 2012, La'Ventus, has performed throughout the United States and Italy. We most recently were awarded Third Place in the American Prize in Chamber Music Performance Competition. In July 2015, we will perform at the 17th World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg, France. In 1997 I was a teacher assistant for the Huntington Park High School music department. I ran rehearsals with the marching band, jazz band, jazz choir, beginning orchestra, and beginning band. In April of 2000 I started working at Middleton Street School where I had the music program under my direction for almost ten years. Instruments include: Violin, Guitar, Vihuela, Guitarron, Voice, and Trumpet. I currently have my own Mariachi group, and play with other groups who need or are short in musicians. Groups include: USC Mariachi, Cal State L.A. Mariachi, and Mariachi Juvenil Voz de America. I evaluate the student and see where he/she stands and move forward in progressing their skill.
