A Little Bit About Me...

As a seminary student, I gained a deeper respect for the education process and a greater passion for teaching students. During my time at what is now Lincoln Christian University, I gained a respect for the written word as well as a significant knowledge and usage of the English language. For the MA degree that I completed, I gained a working knowledge of grammar and research skills due to writing research papers and a final extensive thesis. Not only have I gained experience through study, but I have taught and, at times, tutored junior and senior high students in a classroom setting.

I earned a Bachelor's Degree from Southern Illinois University in Elementary Education with a middle school endorsement in Language Arts and Social Studies. I was awarded the Highest Honors in Elementary Education Scholarship in 2009. My past experiences include tutoring college students in English/Composition, student teaching, completing and year-long teaching internship, teaching summer school, and substitute teaching. A Little Bit About Me...

I have had a passion for education since I was a third grade student. I always thought I wanted to be a teacher "when I grew up." I earned a BA in psychology and started a Master's program in elementary education. Due to personal circumstances, however, I was not able to complete the program. I then taught early childhood and continued to volunteer in schools. I now work in the education department at Bradley University. I miss teaching greatly and have a deep passion for working with children. I have recently completed student teaching and have earned my teaching certificate as an art specialist. I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of students at different levels with varying abilities. I have had internships at the high school and elementary levels, with time spent both in the art classroom as well as the special education classroom. As a substitute teacher, I learned to manage an array of classrooms and assumed all duties of a regular classroom teacher. While working for a day camp, I organized and led activities for diverse students ranging from age five to fifteen.
