I believe that education and learning are two of the most exciting and fulfilling elements of life and believe that helping others to learn is a way to give something back to this world. I have a Masters degree in Business. Not surprisingly, my math skills are quite good. Additionally, I possess strong communication skills (verbal and written) and am working on my first novel. In my professional life, I have managed staff and welcomed opportunities to teach and mentor. Math is an especially intimidating subject to many, but learning at an individual pace is often the only barrier to complete understanding. I am patient, and willing and able to explain the workings of different concepts that cannot be covered in a classroom setting, in as many different ways as the student needs. On the other hand, I am mindful of the individual’s learning style and understanding, and will adjust the pace, slower OR faster, to the student. I bring the same mindfulness and attention to the student to private music lessons. I am enthusiastic about both math and music, and about learning in general. I love to offer information and explain, but I most love watching students come to an understanding of their own.
