Proficiency is acquired with methodical steps.

My approach is simple: assess the student's academic weaknesses, review the strengths, then teach the new material in order to bridge the content or skill. "Scaffolding" is the best means by which to teach so that the student understands the significance of the lesson. Too often, teachers play sage-on-stage, thereby neglecting to connect what the student already knows with the new material.

Have fun while learning!

I have taught Kindergarten through 4th grade and have accumulated over 11 years of experience. I love teaching young children and am so excited when I see the little light bulbs of learning turn on. I teach with the multiple intelligence approach.
