I worked for A and 1 tutoring last year while getting my degree. Helping high school juniors and seniors having trouble passing the High school exit exam. I tutored ESL students helping them read and write English. I would meet one to one basis at their homes for a hour and a half every day and I would help them with their homework, and then we would work on reading on a everyday basis, by having them write a journal for 20 minutes every day, and read passages from their workbook, and answer questions. I would also show them videos about what was their favorite thing to do, for example I had a student who like to draw, so I would find articles about drawing and he would read the article and tell me what is what about. I was a first generation student that strived to succeed as a collegestudent where I encountered difficult obstacles along the way. Through my own determination I have succeeded and have earned by Bachelors degree where I was able to complete a double major in accounting and spanish in four years from a prestigious university. I have gained valuable experience working for a local CPA firm working on various accounting projects.

While I pride myself on being approachable, patient and easy going, I tend to approach teaching in a methodical manner. I believe that student's time and attention is very valuable, and warrants preparation and thoroughness. My initial approach is always to first assess a student's needs, goals, learning style, and accomplishments. Next, I pick a strategy to approach the needs of the student. For example, I might select a straight-forward text or document from which I could teach loosely, such as the book "With Good Reason". (It is an excellent text on argumentative methods.)
