I graduated from my Master's program with a 4.09 GPA and was inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. I have taught in the public school system for over 7 years at all grade levels from Kindergarten to Grade 12. During that time I spent 3 years tutoring several levels of mathematics and intro to financial accounting for HCCC for 3 years. I went from a student tutor to a part-time tutor in my time there receiving a CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certificate for my work and a great amount of experience in that time. I love teaching, period. I strive for clarity in my presentation. This has allowed me to explain very complex ideas to adults as well as very young children. The mark of a good teacher is comprehension. Never is there a place for anger or impatience in teaching! It is the duty of the instructor to demonstrate why the subject is important and interesting. Along with 7 other students, I was directly hired out of college to teach 7th grade English. Along with my 4 years of Latin experience, it increased my abilities in the grammatical aspect of the English language. I also tutored college students while I was attending in first yr Latin and math. I took 4 yrs of French in high school, graduated Shenendehowa in 1974.
