Teaching and helping others is a passion of mine. I love the feeling I get when I realize I have helped somebody solve a problem. It makes them feel accomplished, and myself as well. When I tutor, I let the student come to me with the problem, and instead of doing it for them, I will break it down into smaller steps they can do. I will use similar examples from a book or problems I make up to show them the basics of the problem. I want to provide students with a good, strong mathematical foundation. If their foundation is strong, then it will take a lot more to shake them. I want the students to solve the problem themselves with my assistance.

I am looking to obatin an accelerated teaching certificate and I believe this would be a good start for me. I have worked as an Algebra tutor during 1998 to 1999 for Helping Hands Tutoring, in Dickson, Tennessee. During college, I worked as a tutor to other students in my class. Many times I was helping by phone during the night. I have studied Mandarin for 4 years (beginner), and German (basics).
