A Little Bit About Me...

I am a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of accounting and finance experience. Although I have no formal teaching degree, I feel that I would be an excellent tutor. First, I have successfully trained many employees over the years. Second, my two sons, ages 21 and 19 graduated numbers 2 and 1 in their high school classes, respectively. Now, both are "straight A" students at the University of Tennessee. Here, I feel that I have lead by example. Finally, my personality, while being friendly and patient, is also that of a highly motivated "over achiever" who loves to help others. I have been told I have a three dimensional style of training. I teach in a way that every style of student can (eventually) get it. I have taught both children and adults in the various positions I have held through my life (camps, schools, employers and church). Nothing is more exciting than seeing the "light bulb moment" go off on an individual's face!
As the Head Trainer for Order Entry and Customer Service for ten years at J Crew I taught detailed customer service training for new hires. I also implemented and taught the Train the Trainer Program within the Lynchburg, VA Region 2000 community. I graduated from Liberty University in May 2009 with a BS in Accounting. I am currently and have been a substitute teacher in Bedford County for the 2009-2010 school year. I have substituted for grades 6-12. I have been a football coach at Liberty High School for 3 years and I have been a track & field coach at Liberty High School for 5 years. I have helped different types of students away from school in various subjects. I love math and I am in the process of completing the requirements to gain a teaching license to teach high school math.
