A Little Bit About Me...

During my time at Hampden-Sydney College, I was a math tutor, computer science tutor,and a physics tutor. I started tutoring my junior year of college where I just tutor math and computer science. I mostly help students with Calc I and Calc for Econ problems. In my senior year, I continued to tutor math, but I tutored stats instead of calculus. I also tutored physics.
I first start by explaining the material the way that I understand it. I also show examples to show how the problems are solved. If it doesn't seem to be taking then I start to break the problems down into simple steps and explain each step until the student understands. I also try to relate the material to them so they can relate to the material on a more personal level so that the information will stick with them better.

I am university biomedical research employee and teach a biochemistry credit recovery program for high school students on the weekend. I believe that every day offers the opportunity to either learn or teach or both. There is no situation where there is not something to be gained, or shared. I believe every child is different. I taught at Brevard High School for 4 years as a Computer Engineering and Networking instructor. Having taught high school in both affluent and underprivileged areas I strive to make sure that every student has a positive learning experience. My degree is a BS in Communication/Business with a minor in education. Language has always been my first love and I continue to take classes related to this field.
