A Little Bit About Me...

While earning my degree in earth and atmospheric science I was a tutor to underclassmen at my university in the subjects of earth science and geography. I have a firm understanding of earth science, meteorology, geography, physics and geology. As a senior, I completed extensive research in 3 upper level classes, completing a 6 credit independent study class with an A as well as two other independent study classes with A's. I enjoy teaching and instructing young children how to ride horses in my free time.

I have always enjoyed working with young people. I take the time needed to assess each student's learning styles and I am well versed in what works for students of each type (visual, oral, kinesthetic and their subcategories). I am patient and use the student's strengths to help them overcome their weaknesses. I believe that a student can learn what ever is required of them if the teacher takes the time to work with the student. It is important to me that my students and I become a team in their learning and that the student is comfortable asking questions and sharing their difficulties so that I can understand the student's needs.
