I want you to be successful in learning!

My teaching style is mainly dependant on the person that I am tutoring. If a student needs to take a slower process to learn than I am adaptable to that. The same is true for someone who has a little faster pace. I am flexible.
I have experience with teaching adults how to read at my local literacy organization. Also, I have tutored children with Reading and Math. I was a substitute teacher for students from Pre Kindergarten through High School with different subjects and disciplines. I enjoy teaching very much. I think a strength trying to use a student's active content or prior knowledge to connect to material. My attempts are always to make the student feel empowered by the education process. As I streamlined accounting processes for the businesses I worked for, I wrote procedures and trained personnel on every level across every department both in the U.S., Singapore and China. I tutored my children in math due to the inept teachers in the public school system---up through algebra one. Some students are more aggressive and advanced but there are those who are silent and will not speak out about difficulties understanding competencies. I prefer not to embarrass those students but give them the opportunity to learn one-on-one. I try to work at the student’s learning pace in an effort to allow the student time to comprehend and retain what is covered within the session. I am not interested in helping others learn what I know (and love) to find out later that I was "too fast" for them to use the information after the session. As a recent college graduate, I was driven to study engineering and music to create a balanced lifestyle. I have earned a bachelor of science with a major in engineering science and a minor in music. The ability to counteract my math and science studies with the arts is beneficial for the body and mind.
