I have tutored students since my undergraduate years. I continue to give back to community through many projects. The sorority I am apart of hold many tutoring sessions to students. Also through my church we hold tutoring sessions. I have been involved in both projects for more than 5 years. I have tutored in English, elementary grade Math and Science.
I absolutely love working with children. Through my current job now I am responsible for ensuring children receive quality child care. I honestly believe all children can learn. I learned through visual aid. So, I guess I would lean towards this style of teaching. However, if a student learns better with audio aid then I would be willing to combine the two methods to better educate the student. My goal is to provide the best education possible and to suceed in that is to have great communication and alittle fun doing the work that is expected.
I have not taught anyone or tutored anyone for money. However, I would like to have the oppitunity to be able to tutor children or young adults on their way of the journey of life. I too was tutored going through school and not just once. I attended Sylvin Learning Center every other year since sixth grade. It helped me understand the areas that I didnt and excel in the areas I did. I would like to give thas opportunity to someone else.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love learning math and science and I enjoy sharing the same love of learning with my students. I like seeing the look on their face when they really get it! Students requiring tutoring are sometimes in academic distress and have anxiety therefore I have a more easy going and patient style of tutoring than most. I believe I'm an effective tutor because I remember the exact same difficulties and questions I had as a student and can relate to their frustration. Most people as well as myself are visual learners thus I teach by working several examples and gradually increasing the difficulty at a pace set by the student. When the opportunity arose to help my alma mater, I took the change to teach debate, public speaking, political science, and advise college level students.
