I began teaching at Shepard Academy. I taught Social Studies to middle and high school students. Shepard was a small private school specializing in meeting the needs of students who had a variety of learning challenges. Many were diagnosed with ADHD or ADD. I moved to NYC in 2001 to become a Broadway actor; however, I did not want to live the actor "lifestyle" and in essence become a professional waiter.
