My comments on tutoring Poetry : I love writing poetry and truly enjoy reading poetry as well.I have experience in writing my own poetry for the stage as well as other creative writing outlets. I would love to help someone find their voice within the realms of poetic fodder and see just how creative they don't even know they are! :)

I have my A.A. degree in Theatre and Communications and will be receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing with a minor in Film Studies in December of 2012. I have experience with children ranging from grades K-12th. I have been a Teacher's Aide since 2004 and a Summer Counselor since 2006. I am also bilingual and although it is not on my list for tutor availability, I do have experience in the language barriers concerning English and the Spanish language. I am Cuban American and wouldn't trade that for the world. It allows me to enjoy the cultures around me as well as given me a thirst to explore new ones. I love to bring history to live for students so I like to explain events in a story format. It is important for students to memorize facts, however, so I focus on memorization techniques and organization. Reading requires comprehension so I use a combination of techniques including reading out loud and repetitive reading.
