My comments on tutoring Writing : Qualified in this subject by WyzAnt. Also, I was the Editor-in- Chief of the monthly bulletin published by the Associated Public Safety Communications Officers which was headquartered in New Smyrna Beach, FL. I also acted in this capacity for a cultural magazine called "Flair" for a two year period while residing in Vienna, Austria. For each of these publications I wrote original articles, solicited and proofread the submissions of free lance authors and worked in close coordination with professional writers.

After completing my undergraduate degree in English Literature at Florida State University, I worked as a substitute teacher in Hillsborough County for two years. In 2009, I completed my Master's Degree in Communication at University of South Florida while simultaneously employed at the Department of Special Education. I have been tutoring with Advanced Learners for 1 year and am currently an Adjunct Instructor of Public Speaking at HCC Dale Mabry.
Once while subbing, I entered a classroom where the students had been allowed to watch Jerry Springer on TV for the last two weeks. I couldn't let this continue, but I saw how emotional the class was about the show. I encouraged them to write their own talk show and told them we would perform it the next day. I find that connecting student's interest with the subject matter to be learned is the best way to teach.

MENTORING THROUGH TEACHING LASTS FOREVER!!!

I have tutored in the Public Schools for many years while my children were young. As a young teen I even graded papers for teachers who were not associated with my school district. I enjoy teaching and get great satisfaction from the success when a student gets it! I home schooled my middle child when she became too ill to attend school on a regular basis. My method for her taught her to be very responsible. Upon graduation she had better self confidence and had a 4.0 in college and successfully completed her degree. I expect that after her child is older she will return to further her education.
