I have been teaching English and History education for three years. I have experience on the 7th, 8th 9th and 10th grade levels. For the last three years my high school English courses have been centered on ACT prep. for the ACT/MME students take their junior year. My eighth grade curriculum focuses on strengthening testing scores, reading comprehension and writing ability (formal and creative). I also have taught Shakespeare and core minored in Shakespearean Lit while earning my English Degree. My experience with history education has been focused in geography, culture, western civilization, American history, European history and African American/African histories. I have taught the summer school credit recovery classes in my school district for three years and have also home schooled and tutored for seven years. I also had several classes focused on African American Literature.

I like to work one on one with students, however I'm open to group settings. I'm adaptive to how the student learns and try to work from there. I'm an English education major currently attending Western Michigan University to earn my degree. Before starting at Western I attended Jackson College, where I excelled in my writing classes and was asked to become a writing fellow. Through this program I worked with students at the college answering questions and helping them with any and all works of writing. I also worked within a Jackson area prison helping inmates with various writing and English related issues. Before I began tutoring I wrote for my local newspaper for two years. First I was a part of a teen issues column, but was asked to continue to write even after the column was over. Writing and English are my passion and I really love helping others to enjoy it as much as I do.
