My teaching style is based around being able to adapt to the individual student(s) and help them overcome their areas of improvement. The goal of a good tutor should not just be to get their students finish their assignments, but to help the students understand the fundamentals of whatever discipline they are studying. This MUST be a significant sphere of focus because students need a good foundation to continue their academic progression. Giving students the belief that they can understand any academic concept as long as they stay focus keeps them engaged in the overall educational process. I have taught in higher education for the past 22 years. One year was spent teaching at Spokane Community College and for the past 21 years, I have taught at Whitworth University (formerly College). While I enjoy high teaching evaluations, one of my greatest strengths is the one-on-one teaching I am able to achieve through the advising process and the individual students seeking extra help.
