As cliché as this sounds - my favorite part of teaching is the satisfaction of knowing I made a difference. I have interacted with individuals across countless backgrounds and understand the idea of each student needing to hear things in their own terms. I believe that every person has an optimal way in which they learn. Ideas that seem complicated can be made easy by simply changing the way in which it is presented. I will graduate from the College of Saint John’s University this spring with a major in English Education. Classes I have taken at CSB/SJU include extensive English and Education courses and a continuation of Spanish education. I worked as a paid English tutor during my 4-year college career through Upward Bound Tutoring program. I fell in love with helping middle school and high school aged youth in a small group and one on one setting. I find my favorite moments of education to be in a one-on-one or small group setting.
