As a graduate assistant teaching a section of College Algebra at Minnesota State University, Mankato for past three years, I have gained a tremendous amount of experience and insights to become a successful educator and a leader. Now that I have completed my Masters degree in Mathematical Statistics, I want to continue to help students achieve their goal. I have also taken a course "Mathematical Problem Solving and Mathematical Modeling for Teachers" during my graduate studies which has helped me adopt and engage in heuristic teaching method.
After my training in graduate studies, I have come to believe in heuristics method of teaching. I believe in a teaching style that reflects a student's learning style. Whether they learn best by hearing, seeing, or doing it is important to cater to the student. My teaching style works around this philosphy and tends to be a combination of all 3 styles.
Although I have recently graduated with a degree in business, I am interested in pursuing a career involving people. My previous employment was a sales position that was very customer-oriented. I also have 3 years of experience helping children by teaching swimming lessons. Assisting my 15-year-old sister with her school work is also a regular activity.
