I taught String Instrumental Music K-8 in Detroit Public Schools. Mostly I taught BEGINNERS. We performed at least 2 programs a school year. My certificate reads K-12 Music Education. I am a violinist and I perform in church and I volunteer for highschool musicals in the pit orchestras. I teach a 2 week summer workshop with my former student.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am used to teaching both students close to my age and students younger than I. I always try to explain ideas in ways that make the student think. I never like to hand answers to students, so I do my best at having students learn in their own way with someone helping them along. Being a virtuoso, I believe practice makes perfect in every subject. The way to best understand something new is to review it and practice it. I have a substantial amount of patience when it comes to teaching. I am also a very generous, kind, and humorous person who has learned to live life to its fullest. I enjoy tutoring students of all grade levels. One of the most rewarding opportunities I had was to hold a position as a Boy Scout Leader and also my position as a High School Math and English tutor. I believe in teaching techniques that focus on what type of learner the student is. I adjust my teaching style according to what is necessary to help each particular student grasp ideas and concepts according to what works best for that student. I find it extremly rewarding to see a student reach a confidence level that shows they have mastered a topic that I have worked with them on.
