A Little Bit About Me...

I am a third year undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls studying English Literature and Technical Writing. I am also in my second year of French and am proficient at reading the language. I can provide assistance to the beginnining French student. In high school I took Advanced Placement courses in American History, Biology, and Literature. I am able to provide help in any of these subjects, due to the fact that I have continued my studies of them throughout my college career.

As an aerospace engineering student at Embry-Riddle, mathematics comes quite easily to me. I enjoy solving and creating mathematical problems. At Embry-Riddle I quickly became known as the "go to" guy for all math related questions. Within the first two weeks of the first semester I was leading a Calculus 2 study group and retained my position as such until the end of the semester. While the study group dwindled in size for Calculus 3 I did still lead the group.
I enjoy teaching mathematics and biology. If the student is willing to learn in some fashion I can help him or her. I tend to teach by examples for mathematics and for biology I teach in a lecture style, answering questions in-depth when necessary. In both fields I can give in-depth explanations for concepts. A Little Bit About Me...

My first two years were devoted to an education degree. I gained experience in tutoring, including assisting elementary students and mentoring a group of advanced math students. I was actually accepted into the school of education, and in the process performed 30 hours of classroom observations and assisting teachers at the high school and middle school level. During my remaining two years I private tutored students in algebra, college algebra, calculus, and statistics. A Little Bit About Me...

I am both patient and enthusiastic in my teaching style, believing that learning and growing offer tremendous rewards, even as there are inevitable challenges to be overcome along the way. I have experience teaching all generations, from young children to older adults, and believe that learning comes in all different forms and styles. One of my favorite aspects of teaching is seeing students have their own particular breakthrough where a difficult concept or principle becomes clear.
I am an avid learner and enjoy teaching and providing the same educational opportunities to others that were afforded to me. I have two Master degrees along with a Bachelor degree, with particular teaching emphases in History and English grammar and composition.
