The key to learning any skill is: Practice. I try to focus on that in my tutoring. In languages this will be: practice conversations, practice worksheets from a textbook, and relating to real life concepts. It is just as important in my other fields (especially dance!). I teach children to learn by given them the tools they need to think logically and abstractly. Life is dynamic, what happens today, will likely change tomorrow. As a College graduate, I worked very hard to finish my Masters degree in education. I have two degrees, BS in Psychology and a Masters in Special Education K-12. Teaching to me is about how to engage the student. The material that is prepared for daily lessons can be nothing more than just words to some students. The instructor must become one with the student and understand them on their level. Once you can see eye to eye with your students, then you can begin to help them learn and grow. I learn right along with my students, gaining interpersonal skills from every student. The student's feedback and honesty helps me as an instructor meet the needs of future students.
