A Little Bit About Me...

While working with diverse deaf/hh and hearing students I have come to realize that every student is different. In realizing that, I know that no two students can be taught the same way. Two skills that I have developed and feel are crucial when working with students are patience and creativity.
Since graduating, I have taught at the Katzenbach School for the Deaf as well as the Florida School for the Deaf. I am currently teaching Physical Science and Language Arts to 8th graders at FSDB. I began teaching in 1998. My previous job was taken away by forces of nature. I had taken advantage of the Military Troops to Teachers Program with no clear pathway to practice. Until I found myself with a possibility of unemployment. I I applied at a correctional facility and I was hired over the next week. Hence my introduction to the classroom and the world of academia. I try to relate well to and form good relationships with my students.
