Love Kids, Love Writing.

In high school, I was on our school's speech team, I competed at the varsity level all throughout high school. I placed at every competetion, without fail. I placed in advanced English classes in high school, and tested in to the second level of English classes at Western Illinois University my freshman year. I have won state wide writing competetions, and have a poem published in a book of young writers. I went to school for Journalism and Communications, but am currently taking a year off. I have also taken and passed the Illinois basic skills test, and took 2 years of Special Education courses at Western Illinois University.
I believe each student is different; therefore, I change how I approach my teachings based upon the individual.

During my full time teaching career, taught T.I.M.S.(integrated math/science) and conducted hands on science labs. I enjoy teaching several subjects to all different age levels. I enjoy taking a difficult subject and finding the way in which it relates to the student. While in college I was a youth soccer referee in which the referee has to explain to the rules and apply them to kids ages 5-11. It is exciting to watch the students understand the message that I am trying to portray. If the first attempt to explain something to a student is unsuccessful, then I will explain it in different ways until the student understands. A good teacher can make all the difference as I have learned through my educational experience.
