I was on honor roll in high school on a consistent basis. My best subjects were English and Writing. I attended Pennsylvania State University for Communications with a focus on English Writing and the study of Film and Media Arts. I have a thorough understanding of the English language and a strong knack for comprehension. I believe that I would be able to teach my techniques for not just memorizing subject matter but for comprehending and understanding it.
I help my students to ask questions about why something is this way or that way. It is not as simple as just memorizing subject matter in order to regurgitate it for the upcoming test. The purpose of teaching is to help others understand something that is known as true.

I have a Bachelors Degree in General Studies from the University of Maryland which includes two concentrations: Second Language Spanish, and Human Development. I have tutored three individuals over the past five years. The first was a 3rd grader in reading and comprehension. The second student was a tenth grader in grammar and composition. I believe that all children can learn and should be educated in the least restrictive environment. Each child is different, with their own unique special qualities, talents and struggles. However, no matter what the difference, each child should be given the equal opportunities to accomplish all they were meant to accomplish in life. Not every student will grow up to become a lawyer or a doctor. Realistically some students will end up a trash man, dishwasher or janitor.
